On Monday morning 300 Colored troops, under command of some white officers, came to Gal-latin and demanded the keys of the jail for the pur-pose of Setting at liberty Capt Peck, Provost Marshall of Freedmen thence confined The Keys were given up, under [?] and Captain Peck released He immediatly

issued orders and had arrested [LeS?] & Redus, deputy Sheriff and Col. Redus and Henry Cochran, citizens Summoned by the Sheriff to aid in arresting Captain Peck Col Redus gave bond of two thousand dollars returnable to Captain Peck; to answer Such charges as may be preferred against him,
